Devlog 5: Closing Off Early Production

Hellu again~

Thanks for stopping by~

This week we still had a lot to do, if we were going to meet our goal for the early production. We modelled all of our 3D assets and added the essential ones into the project. And we closed off our game loop. It's a real game now! Kinda hehe.
We managed to meet our big goals for early production. Now that all the base blocks are in place and we can work on refining them.

Level

Soo... a lot has changed since we've last seen each other. The level looks very different now, hopefully much cuter ;3
It was our artists' goal for this week to have all of the necessary 3D assets made and into the game, as well as set the mood a bit with a bright BG with floofy clouds.

UI

Despite disliking making UI our developer Bas did an excellent job on getting this up and runnin' .
Here you can see that a Player is visualised in each corner of the screen with their current score, a timer at the top that restarts the round when reaching  0. And a little player visualiser above Dingo's head.
Cute, ain't it? It better be.

Mechanics

What has changed with the fighting hmm...?
You can now smack the package out of the other players' hands. So you can steal it.
And if you throw, you'll unleash a newspaper tornado onto the other player. cool right? It is.

What's Next?

In the following weeks we'll be adding animations, nicer UI and fleshing out the overall experience a tad more.
Thanks for reading if you did~
